Beautiful Infrared Images

One of my favorite internet posts today is this site: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2010/06/trees_photographed_in_infrared_pics.php
It has some amazing images of trees and nature in infrared. It makes me wish I could see everything in infrared.

Hello, internets!

Today was father's day, and it was also my wife's birthday. I told my wife that those two events canceled each other out, so we didn't need to get each other any gifts. I baked her a cake.  It's day 62 of the oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico. I'm wondering if they'll ever get that plugged up. Amazingly enough, many people seem to be blaming President Obama for this disaster. Fox stooped to new lows today by making fun of Obama's pants and the way he dressed while visiting the beaches where oil is coming ashore.

Here is an awesome video of a tornado destroying a building. Unfortunately the person operating the camera did a terrible job.

I'm a huge fan of Carl Sagan's work. I love the Cosmos TV series. I recently heard about a BBC television show called "The Wonders of the Solar System". I had to download them through torrents just to be able to watch them though because I can't view them on the BBC website. They are unavailable outside of the UK. This is why people pirate. If you want to watch something, it's sometimes the only way to get it. Here is a famous poetic clip that Sagan is well known for, entitled "The Pale Blue Dot":

New Portal 2 E3 Demo

If you haven't played Portal, it's a very cool game from Valve. Their new Steam engine can be used to buy and download it. I won't spoil the games storyline, but it's actually one of the coolest in any game I've played in a while.

I didn't play Portal when it came out. I just recently played it, because Valve was giving it  away with their Steam engine. This was a promotional offer. One thing that it did was peak my interest in the sequel to Portal which is due to be released very soon. If you haven't tried out Portal, buy it. It's a rather cheap game at the moment, but it's very addicting. The sequel is set to be even better still. From what I've heard, it will incorporate multi-player online play modes.

Here is the video from E3 showing some gameplay from Portal 2:
